The typical life expectancy for most components found in homes are listed below. These life expectancies have been determined through research and testing assuming regular recommended maintenance is being performed, normal wear and tear, and not extreme weather (or other) conditions, neglect, over-use or abuse.  Therefore, these life expentancies should be used as guidelines only, and not relied upon as guarantees or warranties. They can be used to budget for replacement of certain items over the years based on their current age.
